Improving Your Family’s Oral Health
Removing a tooth can be necessary to help stop the spread of infection throughout your mouth and other parts of the body.
Creating healthy smiles for families is our priority. Our knowledgeable team can assess your teeth during a dental exam to determine if an extraction or another restorative method is the right course of action for you.

Reasons for an Extraction
If your tooth has been damaged past the point of repair or restoration, your dentist may recommend a tooth extraction. Reasons for a tooth extraction include:
- Trauma
- Tooth decay
- A crowded mouth
- Infection
- Gum disease
What to Expect from a Tooth Extraction
Tooth extraction may be necessary to improve your oral health. We understand not everyone gets excited about a trip to the dentist, but knowing what to expect before, during, and after the procedure can help ease any nerves going into treatment. We’re here to help ease any anxious feelings you or your little ones may have.
Before the Extraction
Prior to a tooth extraction, your dentist will go over your medical history and any medications you’re taking. If you have any questions about the procedure, we encourage you to ask away! Our goal is to make sure you feel comfortable throughout the process.
During the Procedure
You’ll receive local anesthesia to numb the area around your tooth. This will help so you only feel pressure during the procedure and not pain.
Using specialized dental tools, your dentist will gently loosen the tooth and remove it from its socket. In some cases, incisions in the gum may need to be made in order to access the tooth.
You may require a few stitches to close the incision and promote healing.
Aftercare
After your tooth has been extracted, you may experience some swelling, bleeding, or discomfort. This should gradually decrease in the following few days.
Our team will go over any aftercare instructions with you to help you heal.
